At this time of year it’s optimism [and sheer determination] that pulls us through the last few weeks of winter. As the days get that little bit longer and temperatures nudge that little bit higher, our moods become a lot lighter and brighter, and that feels good, really good.
To fully harness that feel-good factor, we suggest applying this optimism to your wardrobe. Pull on positive prints, switch to lighter layers and fully embrace florals, frills and flirty hemlines to [finally] say hello, spring.
At the start of the season, timeless navy blue or monochrome looks are the palate cleansers we all need. Adopt these classic codes with some fun and flair, whether that’s Sixties-inspired ankle boots like Aria, cheetah print dresses like Gigi or a contemporary twist on a quilted jacket like Rowan.
Spring is also the time to perk things up in the print department. Here at L.K.B, this is something we are very passionate about and never stray from our signature spots and vintage archive floral designs. Warm things up for now by slipping on some chic knitwear and go top-to-toe printed when temperatures are on the rise.
Taking inspiration from vintage designs, this season we love a high-waisted, wide-leg pair of sailor pants like Almedia or our nautical-inspired Hillier shorts. Styled with a spring knit or sleeveless blouse, these chic separates are perfect bedfellows for a sunny spring day.
The last word in one-and-done dressing, our Lena jumpsuit has the shape, the spots and the sparkle. Crafted from luxurious silk in cream and black polka dots, it has a swishy wide-leg cut and is finished with beautiful crystal buttons. A real statement piece, it elevates the everyday or can be dressed up with heels and a clutch for occasions - when they come calling.
Of course, when the sun shines, floral prints will really bloom and it’s the perfect time to enjoy some brighter colour. Don’t be a wallflower and look to the chintzy romance floral print found on our Pami dress and Gabbi top. Originally designed for elegant interior furnishings, this beautiful print stems from our country home inspirations this season.
With the new ways we are working and living this year, there is a relaxed feeling that translates to our wardrobes, which has a rethinking suiting and matching pieces. No longer do they feel formal or fussy, but instead they’re pretty, everyday, comfortable pieces that mix, match and can make us feel pulled together or effortlessly easy-going with a change in styling.
And when we start to really feel the heat, we know we’re approaching the good times of the sunshine months, so what we wear has to match these high summer feelings. From cool cotton embellished with flouncy frills, classic tees and espadrilles embroidered with the ultimate summer motif, the lobster, and hot, spicy shades, we’ll not only feel the part, but look it too. Enjoy it, ladies.
