Luxury fabrics and artisanal craftsmanship have always been at the core of L.K.Bennett’s DNA and our Spring/Summer ’20 collection is no exception. We reveal the talent, skill and craftsmanship behind our new collection in association with The British Fashion Council’s City-Wide Celebration and Positive Fashion project, during this year’s London Fashion Week.
Inspired by the glamorous sunshine resorts of the 1930s, our Spring/Summer ’20 collection – A New Era of Elegance – reveals a riot of print and colour; varying from painterly florals to candy stripes. As with every season, each piece has been created in our London-based design studio where our skilled ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories teams work meticulously ahead of every season to create beautiful prints.
Based in L.K.Bennett’s head office, the design studio and team are surrounded with inspiration from season’s past and present. They begin with a detailed mood board which sets the scene for the collection’s story. This is then adapted further as our in-house illustrator spends time delving into vintage print archives which helps create unique prints that you’ll find on a plethora of our clothing, accessories and more.
Experimenting with different colour combinations digitally and free-hand work with paints really brings each print to life, whether it’s a delicate petal print or classic polka dot. For instance, the standout poppy print is key for this season, and you’ll find it on several pieces from Thirties-inspired tea dresses to jumpsuits and wide-leg trousers, all crafted from pure silk.
Join us in our Marylebone store on the 15th of February and discover our craftsmanship gallery. Luxury embroidery house, Hand & Lock, will also be on hand to customise seasonal T-shirts. Available with every purchase of £150 or more.
